I see that glint in your eye. Your journey has brought you from places far and wide. … Come! Sit at the hearth, and let me spin you a tale or two.
For the better part of five years, I’ve been toying with the notion of expanding my online presence to a video format. Sadly, the tools to make such a thing happen have not been in my inventory, and the world of social media is a challenge to master. Most of all, such new endeavors require a courage and momentum that simply lacks the fuel to be fully ignitable.
However, these plague-times of 2020 / 2021 have provided me with plenty of solitude and personal time to consider my options as a creative and individual.
In the midst of September/October, when the social meta was to shut oneself in and wait for the winter to pass, the kindling finally took to smoke, and a candle of a flame appeared!
Twitch.TV, an online platform for live streamers, became a target for me to use the electronic toys in my possession, along with my boredom.
What started as a random live stream of me writing in front of a camera, became a stream of me talking about writing, table-top games, nerd things, and doing some live art and campaign development!
Months later, wouldn’t you know it dear traveler… the Twitch community, and its sub-communities for writing, world-building, table-top gaming, and art opened their arms wide! Such a fantastic entourage of characters, personas, artists, creatives, gamers, and friends emerged from the fold and allowed my new medium of self-expression, sharing, and creation to thrive!
